Why I started this
Midlife has changed the way I think about health, energy, identity, work, rest and what wellbeing actually means.
I created Body Sense as a place to reflect honestly on the physical, emotional and everyday realities that come with this stage of life.
Not as an expert, but as someone living through it in real time.
About Me
I'm Allison, currently 51, a mother of two, divorced then remarried at 49, a qualified chef and now working in the financial sector. Proof that life rarely moves in a straight line.
Body Sense began as a personal reflection on midlife and the changes that came with it: physically, emotionally and in all the quiet ways life changes us all.
I write about health, identity, energy, relationships, wellbeing and the realities of navigating this stage of life, all whilst dreaming of one day moving to Portugal with my Portuguese husband.
Midlife has taught me that wellbeing is rarely just physical. It touches confidence, identity, relationships, ambition, rest and the way we begin seeing ourselves differently.
Not as an expert. Just honestly and in real time.
